John Dory are a carnivorous species who eat a variety a small fish. So targeting them with a small live bait, like a jack mack, is ideal.
Our pre-tied John Dory rig is designed to give your live bait the freedom to swim naturally. They include a long shank, rust resistant 7/0 live bait hook, tied to abrasion resistant 80lb Tough Trace.
When adding your live bait, put the hook on a 45 degree angle so it doesn't get tangled, and so the hook doesn't go back into your bait and kill it.
While these rigs are designed for John Dory, they're strong enough to handle any species that takes a liking to your live bait, including kingfish and snapper.
