KLT® Series hooks

Modelled of our original KL recurve hook, our premium KLT® hooks have the added benefit of a non-offset point, which further promotes jaw or mouth hook ups.

Our unique KLT® hooks are manufactured in Japan from medium gauge high carbon steel wire, meaning they're strong enough to land large fish. The combination of a chemically sharpened point and the slippery PTFE coating aids with penetration, even on the toughest, boniest jaws like snapper.

Recurve hooks are ideal when you intend to release your fish, as they commonly hook the mouth or jaw of the fish. This makes it easier to remove the hook and causes less tissue damage and stress to the fish.

Our KLT® hooks are perfect for fishing in deeper water or in the surf, when bites are harder to detect and striking is less effective. Once the hook is in, it's difficult a fish to dislodge, even when the line is slack.

What you need to know

The PTFE coating is like teflon on a non-stick fry pan. It makes these hooks extra slick and resistant to rust, which means they retain their sharpness and usability for prolonged periods. The slippery surface also reduces friction, enhancing its penetration ability, which is particularly important if you're fighting big fish or bony-jawed fish like snapper. You want that hook to penetrate and lock in!

Hook ups with a non-offset recurve hook are in the jaw of the fish, which causes less damage. This allows you to release undersized fish and undesireable species, and any other fish you might want to let go. If your fish manages to swallow a non-offset hook, they're less likely to get hooked in the gut or throat. This is because the point isn't sticking out to catch on anything as it gets pulled back out when you're reeling your fish in.

The right hook can be the difference between success and failure. There things to consider when choosing your hook including your fishing style, target species and fishing location.
